The One Behind The Lens...
Forget the likes. I shoot for tension, for texture, for truth.
I’m Mickey, a photojournalist by accident, a zine kid at heart, and the underground mythmaker of Calgary's indie scene.
I work best with alt, indie and that weird healing music. My vibe is grit and $3 tacos. I keep my lens on the edges, where the light bleeds, the crowd swells, and look for the moments where something real is about to happen. Wanna work together?
What I Believe
I’m less interested in perfection. I’m more interested in presence.
I shoot live shows, alleyways, stolen stillness, and the moments that feel like they’re about to break.
Whether I’m documenting a band, a community, or a stranger with a story. I’m there to tell the truth. Unfiltered. Unapologetic.

The Rumour Mill
They say Mickey once shot a whole concert with the lens cap on.
The photos still made Pitchfork cry.
“I don’t use autofocus. I just stare at the moment until it finds itself.”
— probably Mickey
One time, Mickey showed up to a gig with no gear.
The room developed itself out of respect.
